'Searching for Sugar Man', is the 3rd film to be shown in Scott Hall Mill’s film series, which sets out to bring people together and inspire through creativity.
Though he faded into obscurity in the U.S. an early '70s musician known as Rodriguez became a huge hit in South Africa and was widely rumoured to have died. Two obsessed fans set out to learn the man's true fate.
"He had this kind of magical quality that all the genuine poets and artists have: to elevate things. To get above the mundane, the prosaic. All the bullshit. All the mediocrity that's everywhere. The artist, the artist is the pioneer. "
We're showing the film (FREE) at Scott Hall Mills on Thursday 22nd August at 7pm (arrival and drinks from 6.30pm). We'll run a friendly bar and provide some delicious snacks.
The event is open to all so please invite anyone who might be interested but please remember to RSVP via the Eventbrite page, as admittance is guest list only.
